Header Poll: Cats vs. No Cats
Just curious what kinds of header systems that folks are installing.
When upgrading to a new set of headers, do you prefer to purchase them with Catalytic Converters or without?
Thoughts and opinions appreciated!

Is this a possible indication that Pfadt is preparing to build and sell their own headers set?

I would like to have my cats back, but I had to punch them as they were starting to fail on me. It made the car a little bit quieter with them on, Long tubes and GHLs.
My car is quite loud at WOT with out cats. My car is also Supercharged with meth injection. Over time the cats just fail and turn into a ball of crap, if you let it go this far, it most likely will get stuck in your mufflers and trying to fish out chunks would not be fun!
My neighbors are just so happy that I have no cats and it's even louder than last year.

I lasted about a week with no cats. The smell was just too unbearable for me. So....cats all day every day for me.

I believe us FI guys would like to run cats, but there is not anything on the market that will withstand the abuse they get. They eventually melt and clog things.
Anyways, my car smelled right after I took the cats off. Turns out the car was running really rich. Retuned the idle with the help of a forum member and now it is smell free except if I come to a stop quickly after going WOT.
And NO my nose isn't broken

My cats smell. They're metallic substrate so I don't see how they'd melt like the ceramics do.
