There are quite a few posts on the forum regarding improving the headlights on our C5's and a search will yield most of them. You can use the SilverStars, or go to a HID conversion kit, but while they may be brighter in the stock housing you will need to convert to a projector housing to take full advantage of them. At one time there was a number of claims made for converting to HIR bulbs but I have heard very little of late about them. Again seaching wil give you a ton of other information, opinions, and recommendations.
