Default What exhaust system to use

I had Borla Stingers but it got to the point where I couldn't stand the drone. They went by-by for zo6 TIs.The TIs are really nice on the road and very mellow in town/no drone here. The problem is I miss the corvette muscle tone.I'm asking for opinions on what to replace the TIs with to get what I'm looking for which is muscle sound with little or no drone on the open road.
2001 C5 convertible
bone stock
I will appreciate any ideas
thanks
Fred
I should have mentioned that I never have my top up,only one time in the last two years.A big difference than vettes with tops.

I think that Corsa Pace Cars have what you're looking for.

FlowMaster, is the one that I use with little drone in the car, but nice sound when you stomp on it.... Good luck, go to a corvette meet and ask to hear there exhaust from INSIDE, not outside..

All these loud exhaust sounds cool for the first hour, but on a nice drive, it can become painful as you have indicated, can't hear the music, passenger, just the ringing in the ear.. This is a tough subject, only you know what your willing to live with as far as drone... Good luck.

Why spend all that money on an entirely new exhaust? Why don't you get a set of electric cutouts installed? I have B&B Rt 66 which has a little rumble to it. When I want it wicked loud I just open the cutouts and set car alarms off. Then back to quiet when I pull in the neighborhood late at night.

Good luck.

I'm not an expert but I read all the comments on the forum that I could. I also did a YouTube search for different muffler sounds as well as the manufactures web sites. Unless you had identical cars with different mufflers on them and heard each close-up, it's a guess game. They are all good. I just bought the Corsa Pace car with Pro tips. I like the tips and more exotic note rather than muscle car sound. Their rating I like also, quiet cruise and noisy when you what them to. A member in our Corvette Club has them and I though they sounded great. I do have Flow Masters on my 1972 that has the muscle car sound.
Make sure you have a "x" or "H" pipe to reduce drown.
I bought them from Maryland Speed, a vendor on the forum.

Corsa Pace Cars on my 03 Vert. Quiet and great sound when street driving, Powerful sound on acceleration and no drone or loud noise while crusing. A little pricey but well worth the money for the best of both worlds.

Another vote for GHL's. Had the Magnaflows and they sounded good but just too mellow. Went to the GHL's and was just perfect, no drone at all and mean as hell at WOT. They are pure ear candy once coupled behind headers!

In the 7 years of owning my C5, here are the exhaust I had on the car:

Corsa
Borla Stinger
BB PRT
Magnaflow
SLP Loud Mouths

and headers and everything else between

OP, if you want a deep muscle car tone with no Drone, well, that is going to be hard to achieve without some drone... just how much, that is up to your ears..everyone is different.

I will say this, to my ears... Corsa's are nowhere near a muscle car tone at all..they are more of a high pitch sound, and sound like motor-boat at idle

You could try the BB Rte 66, although I am not sure how much louder they will really be than the Z06 TI's you have.

If you are not going to use headers, then my recommendation to you would be trying the BB PRT's... they have a Baritone tone to them and without headers they are tolerable with regards to minimal drone.
