I swapped out my headers yesterday and my wires are almost touching them now. Not to mention I discovered one wire has been arching across the metal sleeve. I found a set from ABCdirect that would probably work as I need the spark plug boot to be angled.

Also, do any of you use an aftermarket boot sleeve to keep the temp down, or run as is? Any assistance appreciated

Im not getting into this argument again. many many many many people use the metal sleeves and oem wires with headers though and dont have an issue with touching.

Not looking for an argument at all, just asking for assistance. Perhaps I failed to mention that I'm already running an aftermarket 10mm wire. The wire closest to the firewall on the driver side (don't no what number it is) is arching badly. It was probably doing it before the header install. Regardless, the boots are almost touching and this can be cured by finding a wire that's angled, or possibly has a shorter boot. Was also curious if anyone ditched the metal sleeve for a non metal one or just removed them completely.

Cheers

I've got GM Red Performance Wires, and the Corvette "KoolSox," insulators on mine, they have been on for probably 40k miles, 3 years, no problems.

If you're interested in these, you'll have to do a search, I see Ecklers has discontinued them...

^ Seems like a nice set of wires. Built in heat protection, double silicone insulation. Might not need the KoolSox, but I would get.
