That's a reason that I refuse to give them a credit card number. If they want me to subscribe, they can bill me. I ran into that problem when I first got an '08 Equinox - when the trial period was coming to an end, I called to just cancel. They had already charged my CC and took a little while to get it refunded.

i usually call every 3 months and threaten to cancel service, and get the next 3 months for $20. quarterly contract, not yearly.

Kenwood has a promo that started today with $50.00 MIR on all new activations when adding the SXM100 or 200 to your double din package.
There is also a MIR that starts with Kenwood on May 1 on the doube din radios too!

D'oh! I wish I had known that yesterday. I went out and purchased a new Kenwood DNX6190HD at Best Buy yesterday morning. If they announce a rebate, I think I'll head back to BB and see if I can get the difference refunded.

FWIW - I installed the unit in my truck yesterday and am loving it so far.

there is no rebate on the 6190
only 6990 7190 and 9990

Best Buy does not offer the eXcelon products but we do

The MIR is not a cash refund as well so you will need to mail in a copy of the serieal number and invoice from an authorized Kenwood dealer

Look at all of the different prices everyone is paying. We had the same problems. We would threaten to cancel and they would give us a great deal however when we got our bill it was not what they said it would be. We cancelled them and started using Pandora through our phones. My wife and I purchased a Jabra hands free devices which has a fm frequency we can pipe in pandora from our phone through the Jabra and then through the radio. It is free no servicde charge. I am tired of dealing with shady companies like XM.

there is no rebate on the 6190
Thanks for the info. I never seem to get a mail-in rebate back anyway. I would much prefer the manufacturer just knock the rebate off the price at the register.

I bought the 6190 for my truck, but have been looking at one of your packages for my '02Z. When I do finally decide to upgrade the stock system it will probably be over the winter when I won't be driving it as frequently. Then I can remove the center console and ship it off for the Double DIN refurb along with one of the "Rock in a box" packages.

In this case Garmin is the one paying for the rebates not Kenwood
Kenwood has the best MIR program out there. You fill everything out online and you get confirmation emails that rebate was confirmed in sytem pending you sending in paperwork. Very easy to track status too.

The RIB package sounds like a plan
We are going to be adding more options for packages as soon as we get caught up on spring bezel orders

I too call them up everytime my subscription is up and tell them I am cancelling. They transfer me to customer retention and they always make you a much better deal. I certainly will never give them my credit card number.

They want $ 170.00 a year for mine. I was wondering what the deal was now. If I cant get it for about half that I'll just cancil. That automatic renewal is crap anyway.

I just renewed my yearly after threatning to cancel, after getting a paper bill for 176.00. I paid $77.00 plus the artist bull crap tax. All included is like $95.00 a year. I never give them a credit card, just send me the bill in snail mail.

I still get offers in the mail every few weeks for $20.00/6 months service. It's a great deal but none of our vehicles have the original radio in it. I'm to cheap to buy the reciever to get it. I did enjoy it when we had it, though. Always liked Howard's interviews.
