Default Looking for new lug nuts

I discovered that today that someone stole a few of my lug nut covers and they tried to cover it up by replacing them with black style covers

I know its a small detail but can any of you tell me it would not annoy you to? I know I could order replacement covers but I would like to upgrade to nice looking lugs that do not need covers. Anyone know of good looking replacement lugs? To make things a little harder I have a DBGM Body and Silver/Grey OEM Rims so I cannot use chrome lugs without it looking weird (black might be ok though). Has anyone ever painted there lug nuts? I am thinking DBGM lug nuts might be an nice look but not completely sold on the idea.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think it would look weird at all. I'd get chrome acorn nuts. They're recessed enough to look good and much easier to keep clean and look good. These are anniversary wheels, but you can get the idea.

Chrome wouldn't look bad at all.

The chrome lugs would look just fine but if you wanted black, I'd bet a good tire shop could get you some.

Go down to your local Pep Boys and buy some chrome, they'll look fine.

Gorilla wheel locks come in a chrome set of 20. I think they would look just fine and give you an extra set of security since all lugs are locks.

I bought some stainless lugs from the for sale section for a set of Z06 wheels on my FRC. Not as bright as chrome but no rust or flaking to contend with.

The little caps are available from most retail venders that carrry C-5 parts. Seems they're abor $1,00 each.

I got a full set about a year ago on ebay for around $25.00 shipped.

The chrome ones I got with my wheels are starting to rust. They are probably not good quality. Who sells stainless?

As I undertand it they are GM. There is a set on ebay now but pricey at about $80.00. I believe I paid $40.00 plus shipping for mine.

Are yours solid SS?

I tried to find the ones you mentioned in eBay, but couldn't. Is it possible to post the link to them?

One of the stainless ones looked like the ones that came stock on my 86 Monte Carlo SS. They were a stainless cap on a standard lug. The stainless cap was not removable. (although some wore out and separated on my set)

If you are looking for the stock lugs and caps, I stumbled across a good price on the stock lug nuts with caps. SLP has a set of 20 nuts with the gray caps for $12.95 for the set.

They also have some other charges, like a $25 min order and $4.95 handling charge and probably shipping. If you are getting something from them or getting a couple of sets, it might work out ok.

I hope it helps someone.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I am leaning toward the SS since they should be a bit duller(closer match to wheels) and they should hold up longer. I appreciate the pictures, the chrome looks much better than I imagined and is a close 2nd option

Btw, does anyone know the lug nut size? 12mmx1.5x?
