I just bought a hurst short throw shifter for my 03 z06 but I have been seeing a lot of ppl say that have the c6 shifter in their c5 z06? Which shifter is the best way to go?

Very happy with the Hurst in my Z. Throws are nice and short and I really like the fact that it has adjustable stops for over-travel. Don't like sloppy shifters, Hurst is very solid.
I would like to take my Hurst out of Z, but don't want to go back to stock. I'm getting older and I don't like fighting the hurst to shift.
Basically I love the short throw, but the Hurst is way to my effort. What do you reccomend for someone who does not like stock, to long and sloppy, or Hurst, to much effort????

You might not need to change your shifter at all. My MGW was too stiff for me when I first installed it, but after doing the transmission detent bolt spacer mod (aka the AntiVenom mod) it felt really good. I used a 1/8" spacer.
This advice is applicable to the original poster as well. Since you already purchased the Hurst, I say install it and try it out for a while. If it's too stiff then try the above mod. If you still don't like it, then try the MGW shifter or the RSD Snap (which is a modified C6Z shifter).

What exactly does this mean, and how does it work?

Not sure if you're being a wise guy as I see I should have wrote "to prevent over-travel" but if your not, read on.
If you look at the following picture, you will notice an adjustment bolt and nut on the left and right side of the shifter. When adjusted properly, it prevents you from forcing the shifter further than it is supposed to travel in the gear that you are selecting. Thereby preventing internal damage to the transmission such as bending the shift fork, blocker rings etc.

I have a Hurst and I love it. It is stiff which I imagine I could correct with some lighter springs. Other than that it goes right into gear perfectly and has a very notchy feel as opposed to the stockers which feel very sloppy or loose to me.
any of you guys owned or driven 99-04 mustang with the MGW shifter?
just wondering if anyone did how dose it compare to the C5 MGW shifter?
i had the MGW for 2 years on my mustang before i sold it and it was AMAZING ... I have purchased the RSD shifter its great shifter but dosent compare to the MGW that i had in the 2003 mustang gt
