Default plastidip question

Im going to do the lower rear bumper treatment tom. Do i need to prep it with anything other than the obvious wash and stripping of wax?

Well played. Sarcastic and helpful. I can appreciate both.

hey ! when i did mine ..i used some grease and wax remover..then some 2'' blue painters tape...took some news paper to control over spray..i also put some news paper behind the bumper cut outs ..pretty much any where i did not want the dip to go...then i worked from the bottom up to my tape line. don't spray to heavy as it will run and you will have to start all over again

How hard is it to cover the area above the exhaust tips? Or do you drop the exhaust?

Im just going to cover my tips with either paper or an old towel. Taoe off entire rear except what i want sprayed. Being over cautious is always a safe bet.

i just used newspaper...wrapped it around the tips,, then put a peice of tape on the bottom side..then took what was hanging out in the front..and taped it down...so i made a paper sleeve for the exhaust..so it would slip on and off..

Just wash it and wipe it with some Simple Green or any degreaser. The most important part is the tape line. You need to make sure that you are able to pull the tape line while the dip is still wet. It dries FAST. Make sure there is NO wind. The stuff will blow all over the place. Overspray on the tips or other part is no big deal. After it dries just peel or wipe areas where you got overspray. Pretty much impossible to screw anything up with this stuff.

It also good for pranks....I "spray painted" all over my brother's hood....lolololol He flipped out.....then I peeled it off in 2 seconds....

I wipe the area with alcohol. One place I used plasti dip and didnt use alcohol there was bubbles that started to appear after a week.
