I posted this in the Z06 section with no response. Needing advice.
I've been having a intermittant issue with the left door module of my '03 Z. I haven't been able to use any of the controls lately, but yesterday the car wouldn't start at work. It was ok in the morning. Checking the codes, LDCM shows no communication. Is it possible that there is an open circuit that would drain the battery? Before AAA jumped started the car, he checked out the alt and it was ok, however, this morning I got a message that said low voltage. Is this also one of the symptoms of a failing LDCM?
Thanks in advance
An OPEN circuit would not cause battery drain. It would have to be a short or some device staying on and using current to drain the battery. I would check for two different problems. First the accordian tube as suggested, then the battery connections both at the battery and on the starter solenoid. It's very common to have voltage fluctuations and charging issues if that connection at the starter is loose or corroded.
