How does it compare to the G8 in terms of driving feel/power/etc?
Also, unrelated, why are there no dual tip exhaust that come up next to each other - like every other car that has a center dual-tip exhuast? The spaced out 2 tip looks funky IMO.
Ride Quality: Compared to the Corvette, the G8 felt more substantial and with a curb weight of nearly 4,000 pounds, it should. The G8 provided a more compliant ride quality, especially in the city, but I have actually been very impressed with the ride quality of my 10-year old C5.
Handling Characteristics: In stock form, the G8 handles very well but there is a noticeable amount of body roll upon making the initial transition. The C5 undoubtedly handles better than a stock G8. However, at one point in time, I had a Pedder's Street II kit (struts, springs, various polyurethane chassis/suspension bushings), BMR sub-frame connectors, and Spahn trailing arms installed on my G8. With the aforementioned upgrades, the G8 would be capable of outhandling the C5. Many Pedder's kits for the G8 are capable of attaining over 1.0g on the skid pad.
Power Delivery: The C5 is marginally quicker but I prefer the power delivery of the C5 because of the control offered by the 6-speed manual transmission; my G8 was equipped with the 6-speed automatic.
