High tech car door
Don't think we'll ever be seeing something like this, especially on the current C5 and C6/7 series, but who knows, maybe in the future? Interesting concept nevertheless.

Nice idea. I wonder if they considered a demo during a driving rainstorm or snowstorm.

Wow! I haven't watched this video in years! Cool stuff but not practical for real world driving.

Never on a vette. It would have to sit higher
And probably weighs a lot

I don't care what they claimed...there is no way the structural integrity of those cars is the same as stock. They were never designed to have the pillar removed. Those things probably folded like lawn chairs in crash testing.

I'd be real interested if someone was able to fit a set of dihedral synchro-helix mechanisms to the C5. For anyone wondering what that is, it's one of the many things the Koenigsegg is known for. Those doors are too awesome.

Neat idea, but I wouldn't want to get T-Boned in one and what happens when your battery dies?

Different yes, something I would want - no. Just one more thing to go wrong - which would be a real PITA if it failed in the open position.
