Default Chip repair question

Does anyone know how deep of a ding or scratch Dr. Colorchip will cover?

I have a nearly perfect circle ding under my door handle. I heard a "pop" a few days ago and figured a rock hit, sure enough I was right...It is fairly deep...

Any ideas how to fill this in?

What is the diameter of the chip?
A large area chip would be difficult because the paint is meant to be applied next to the chip and sort of squeegied over it to fill it.
Dr. Paint Chip is best for small road rash kind of chips but I suppose that if you were patient and made several applications, allowing a day or two in between, it might work.

I used Dr Colorchip on my wife's 3 month old silver car for a simple chip on the hood as well as a scratch on the rear bumper where someone scraped the bumper pulling into a parking spot. It did not work well on either. The paint was not a good match and it did not fill in well for the scratch. Save your money. I ended up going to a body shop and had it fixed for $200. The Dr Colorchip kit was $59. They made it look like new again.
