I have the caliper covers on my car and they have made cleaning the wheels much easier. I have had no issues with these covers.

Do you have to take the brake line loose to install ?

It probally doesn't cost much more to have your calipers actually powder coated.

These covers are attached with clips -- take the wheel off install the covers with the clips and replace the wheel. It takes approx 45 mins to do all four wheels

You are most likely correct on that, except there is no down time with the covers, and to OP was not wanting to know about painting or powder coating.

I saw these in person for the first time the other day on a C6. Yuck. Glad I went to all the trouble to paint mine - they look MUCH better!

I can't believe people spend money on those.

Did you mask and paint these on the car or did you remove them to paint.

Yes they are!
'Caliper cover' owners also think
'wheelskins' look good!

I removed them from the rotors, but did not disconnect the brake line.
Took the opportunity to paint the rotor hats black while I was at it. Looks way better!

Good choice.
Search the forum, there's lots of good how to info on this which will make the job go smoother with a better outcome. Took me a solid day to complete, but I'm slow and very picky - I don't do this kind of thing much at all.
Happy to help with any questions.
