hey guys just curious on what splash guards you guys might be using and if you have any pictures. i live in the desert and my Z is getting killed by rocks from these wide tires i put on and pictures you have would be awesome of different brands
If you need some I have a set of front and rear in Silver from my 02 QS Z06. They were never installed, just test fitted. We have speed bumps where I work that are abusive. I was told I would rip them off if I used them. Found that out after I bought them...
i have tired them all and the only ones that hold up to Autocross cones and rocks and also protect car my car the best from my 315's frt and 335's rear are Apsis. Are they too expensive? They do their job and look good. how much is the looks of your car worth? In my case I screwed them to the car but the tape they claim is ok for street use. i did a little grinding on them to get them to fit the best, but what bolts right on anyway? I would buy them again but they have held up for two yrs and have sent lots of cones flying.
Sadly most any splash guards look so-so to crap on a Corvette. The ones Dgoetz has look better than most. It's like putting a bra on the nose. They don't look good. But if you're traveling and don't want the nose sand blasted then you put one for the trip. Spash guards and bras are sacrificial parts to protect your paint. They're cheap sacrificial parts compared to a new paint job too!
For street maybe you make the install with deseus fasteners so you can install and remove quickly for times you don't want them. I could see on a car that does autocross/track part time it would be a nice quick solution.
i also agree with vms4evr, while i don't like the look of bras and splash guards, i feel they are necessary to keep my (black) paint as "unblasted" as possible for as long as possible.
