I've searched both and have a decent amount of knowledge on both headers. My question is has anyone seen both side by side to compare. I've heard good things about XS and a lot seem to be happy with them. I'm just concerned about quality compared to a big name brand like LG, ARH, or Kooks.
Stuff can happen with any headers regardless of who makes them. People are people and mistakes happen. What you should be concerned about is the level of service you'll receive from the manufacturer.
Initially I tried to set XSPower up as a vendor of mine and the only contact information I could get was for their UK site. I contacted them and they forwarded me to someone who was supposed to be their US contact person and the email was based out of a College.
I did a quick search and it looks like they have a US site and a NC address now. I'll probably try contacting them again. Just food for thought. I have no experience with the actual XSPower headers, just the LG units on my Z06.
After reading the threads about ARH guys with issues, usually happened 3-5 years down the road and ARH giving them a new header or fixing the one stat. Showed me they had great customer service and I am glad I bought their product. I love my ARH and glad I went with 1 7/8 as I made A LOT of power with the help of them. But I am a bang for you buck guy and if XS headers work just as fine and hold up for as long as you own them then I would go that route and save some $$. As long as they make within 10hp of the top dogs in headers then I would be sold.

I have installed both LG and XSPower headers. (Along with Kooks and AR) in the past.
If I didn't know the background of the products and the major price difference I would not have even taken a closer look. With the exception of OBX and Cyclone headers from years ago, they are all look very similar in quality to me. I have read that OBX is much better now but I have not actually installed any. I did install a few sets of XSPower and liked the product. Saved enough to begin another project.
If you have any issues with XSPower products you can get in touch directly with the distributor. Not his store or staff but the guy himself. He is on the forum, gives out his cell number and has a facebook page.

obx as a company makes me nervous. they make a lot of parts for smaller autocross oriented cars. most of it is made in china and QC is questionable. i remember one car that used an OBX limited slip, kept having issues, switched to an oem honda LSD and never had an issue again. i'm not specifically bashing obx, just saying i would think twice about using them on a corvette. i know if i were a buyer, LG headers would not make me think twice, i would consider it a perk. OBX headers would worry me as it's a cost saving move, low quality part and i would start wondering what else was cheaped out on
You may pay more but per say you get what you pay for. The LG are the best out on the market to make HP, and excellent set of headers. My car made almost 1,k at the rear wheel on LG with only the 1 3/4 tube headers... You will not go wrong with LG.... Robert

I don't have any experience with LG, but bought a set of XSpower from Superman09, had them ceramic coated locally, and am pleased with them. With a CAI, BBK TB/intake (flame on, :P), Borla straight pipe, and tune I got 355 RWHP out of my 2000 coupe. Works for me
Edit: Also, LG says they use 304 SS, and XSpower says they use 321...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAE_steel_grades. Does it make longetivity an issue? If you get them coated, it may not. I don't have the answer to that. Just throwing that out there.

Reason: More info
L.G. Lou makes the best headers on the market and service is bar none this was my first purchase for my Vette with X-pipe and High Flow cats 1 week later my Corsa Tigershark catback exhaust showed up I have no other advise on the other brands. All I can say is buy what you want their are lots of Y.T. videos out their.
XSPower installed on my 99. I can't see any reason to spend anymore than I did. Great finish great sound and the installer saidthey were easy to work with. Save money and put it to something else. Talk to Jon aka superman09. Good guy.
My take is that if LG Motorsports spent as much time wringing every horsepower they could get to make their cars and (Lou) win races.....That's as much proof as anyone could EVER demand. All others are just 2nd tier. It's track time that counts...and LG's can back up their claims.
At least that's my humble opinion. I'm sure the other brands also make good headers, but LG's are Premium performers.

My car made just over 973 rwhp on the 1 3/4 inch tube headers from LG. I dont think any other set of that small headers would have done that at all. I wish they would make a 1 7/8 for the c5.. I would have them now..But went with a set of junk 2inch set up if you put both side by side.. Robert
Just came across this thread..I have bought from xspower many times, they're head office and warehouse is in City of Industry or Puente cant remember exactly as it has been awhile since Ive bought that stuff. All I can say is it is what it is, EBAY junk for the most part..however I have made great power using it in the past, but never on a Vette only rice builds.
