Does anyone have any track experience using C6 Z06 shocks on a C5 Z?

In my opinion, if you are going to upgrade, then you need either the 2004 Z06 stock shocks (more expensive), OR Bilstein SPORT (less $$)

+1 '04 Sachs are the best choice, and the Bilstein sports are valved virtually identical to those.
