Default another valve spring question, sorry!

So i bought some new GM springs to install in my new to me 03 Z06. I pulled the valve cover a few minutes ago and the springs are not yellow. Are all of the bad springs yellow, or does the color not matter. The Current springs are unpainted. I dont see any markings on them.

They look like stock retainers, if they were aftermarket retainers you could think that they were aftermarket springs.

I looked down the oil filler of my '03 Z06 and see that mine does not have yellow springs either. My car is 100% stock so I'm thinking the later '03s and '04s do not have yellow springs. From what I read the yellow springs are the ones that seem to be failing. My car was manufactured in November of '02. What is the manufacture date of your car?

Not all stock LS6 springs are yellow. Some are blueish some are plain.

The ones in my 01 were blueish.

No worries. I replaced the valve springs on my 02 Z06 last rear at about 32K miles as pm. My oem springs were also unpainted as originally installed but GM.

btw the new GM springs are blue ( I have an uninstalled set ). Believe anyone getting the yellows are older inventory.

You can use many different brand aftermarket beehive springs with the stock retainers. Based on what people have said in this thread, it's hard to know if those are OEM or not. Too bad you can't find the previous owner and find out the history of the car.
