Do you use it frequently? They aparently can get stuck mine didn't work when I got the car, eventually it just started working again.
Try moving the switch in whatever direction the wheel is free to move, if it doesn't move release then push the switch again. Keep doing this until it moves (may take 10+ attempts) then move it all the way out and all the way back in. I believe this recalibrates it in the SCM. If that doesn't work check the fuse maybe. Does the seat work (if you have power seats)? They are both controlled by the same computer.

I saved this from a thread a few years ago:
Resetting the Telescoping Steering Wheel.
1) Turn the ignition to the "ON" position but with the engine not running
2) Tap the telescoping button 8 times in the "inward" position then hold the button in the INWARD position for 5 seconds
3) Tap the telescoping button 8 times in the "outward" position then hold the button in the OUTWARD position for 5 seconds

Mine will move when it wants to so I just drive with it all the way out. It might have something to do with the fact that I weigh 300 pounds. My wife weighs 120 and she has no problems. Has something to do with it being wired into the drivers seat some how.
