Default Oh the shame

Headed up to the first cruise of the season at a local bowling alley (Continental Lanes) here in Michigan. All geeked up with the Vette and got turned away because it was too new (2000). Stayed cool and left quietly but saw many newer vehicles in the lot. Oh well...

Very uncool. At least they could give an honest reason for the snub

How can they exclude someone regardless of what year Vette they drive? I bet if someone showed up in a brand new ZR-1, they would have been welcomed with open arms.

I guess at least you now know how that club or organization operates and check them off your list.

It's just a bowling alley parking lot that has a cruise night after their leagues end to generate some extra income (food, beer, etc.). Not a big deal and I'm not mad, just surprised. But you are right, they have been checked off my list for the future.

Before you cross them off the list, maybe talk to the bowling alley manager and find out what the deal is. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding, but if not, let them know you didn't appreciate the snub.

There is one that I was at last night and they have a big sign in front that says Pre 1976 only and no 4X4's.

It's their show, so they get to set the rules. I can live with that.

No problem there, I agree, it's their show. But, to exclude my 2000 Vette yet allow 2003 T-Birds and late model Mustangs in makes me question why I was turned away. My buddy (68 Chevelle 396) came by and told me they admitted a C-6 vette after they turned me away and when he questioned them they said refusing me was a mistake so who knows what was going on. For the record, it's just a car cruise with no restrictions that anyone knows of. For what its worth, I slept like a baby last night so no worries.
