The reason I wanted them was because they actually provide a very good function. I started to notice how the door panels seperated over the years. I became aware that I would use my elbow to lift me up as I adjusted in the seat and that's how pressure from me doing that affected the original material. No matter how I tried to modify my behavior by not applying any pressure, I would still "push" myself up by my elbow on the armrest. So when I changed out my panel color from black to red, I reglued the panels coverings and decided to use this armrest add-on and it's perfect for adding another layer of padding and a better way of spreading my "elbow pressure" across the whole armrest. Looks great BUT serves a real purpose!
