Default Quick jack question

Hey guys,

If I pick up a low profile jack, do I still need to drive up on boards to get the jack under the puck, or will the jack slip under the pucks without the boards? My vette is stock height and wheels.

Thanks,

Les

If your at stock ride height, a low profile should slide under the pucks.
Good luck.

Recommendations for good low profile jacks would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks,

Les

Good luck.
I have a Craftsman low profile aluminum jack and it fits just fine under the car at stock height with jacking pucks in place.

Car is lowered and Craftsman aluminum race jack is a PITA.

The ATD-7325 (same one as the Omega 29023, just under a different badge) is very well regarded here. Amazon was selling it for $248.83, but now it goes for $299.95. You can see it here.

It's been discussed in depth here.

What really separate this one from the pack, besides its extremely low profile, is its length. It allows you to reach the front and rear crossmembers from the front and rear end of the car respectively, in order to raise the whole axle.

That's the one. One thread in the C6 Forum also says it will accomodate the frame cross bar you can get from Summit. Eliminates using wood under the cradles. FWIW.

Came yesterday--heavy SOB, but I can't find another solution for a lowered C5 that works as well as this. FWIW.

I use a Harbor Freight alu. racing jack. Its light, low profile and was under $75.00. I've used it for several years now.

I've got several jacks, including a Sears aluminum racing one. Works great from the side, but can't get to the cradles w/o driving up on wood. Figure this will work better. Your results may vary.
