So I am right. And from my knowledge, there were 2.

Could be wrong on that one. But I knew no 83 has been stolen. hahahaha

You would think the C5 with the frameless easy pull out windows, and the columns unlocked, that they'd be rolled down your driveway and pushed to the chop shops by the hundreds. Maybe the thieves don't know all the columns are unlocked?

The factory alarm is easy to defeat. Best thing you could do is a lojack or similar

Per the NCM, there is or was, only one and of course they have it. Here it is!

I would think the best way to steal any C5 is to use a special tow truck like THIS.

12 seconds into the video, they pull out a tightly wedged in C5 and were off in 35 seconds.

Short of chaining the Corvette to an oak tree, what can one do?
Thanks for sharing the video. Matt Birch and the rest on operation repo could use that for sure.

I suppose they made that one 83 Vette so it can be said that the Vette is the longest production run of any car made.

Back on topic!

SO I bought my car used of course. If its sitting there and the column is not locked, is it safe to assume it has had teh column lock bypass?

Yep ... previous owner must have installed a column lock bypass.

Yep. And safe to say if it's a six speed it can be rolled, steered, pushed, towed, to the nearest chop shop with relative ease.
