Default Does Lingenfelter Keep Records?

Anyone know if LPE keeps their certificates of authenticity on file per VIN #? I am picking up a 2001 LPE Z06 and the guy mentioned that he had the paperwork but misplaced it, so I'm waiting for him to dig it up. So I was wondering if worst case LPE can reprint one, if anyone knows that would be a big help on a Sunday.

I tried to trace a LPE 383 long block a few years back and they could not help me.

I have dealt with LPE several times, and to my knowledge they maintain records on builds....call them and give them the VIN.

Ah man, that's sad news. This was their 427 Twin turbo 725hp package that was done to the car. So it should have gone to their shop and completely been done. I guess I will have to cross my fingers on this one.

Oh really!? I hope I can give them a shout and get some paperwork on the build. Words are useless without documentation! Thanks, I'm just going to have to patiently wait till tomorrow.

I'd mention this to the guy your buying it from, might help him remember where he put it a little faster.$= LPE Docs.

Another question to the Lingenfelter C5 owners. Is it possible to buy the lingenfelter components, such as the twin turbo kit, without them installing it, or do all Lingenfelter vettes have to be built by them in Indiana? Just making sure that someone wouldn't be able to clone one.

Also, there are no badges with the Lingenfelter signature on this car. Only thing is it actually says LPE on the intake tube. Other than that, it has a factory looking Z06 fender badge that says "427 Twin Turbo" right under the "06" in the same manner that the 02-04 has the "405 HP"

Weather this was gone in house or not, I hope you have had the car checkout completely. I would be a little concerned with a car of this nature as to how hard it has been driven over the years. Lets face it a 427 with that kind of horsepower was not what you would call a go to work and back vehicle.

HAHA, why wouldn't you call it a back and forth to work vehicle? This thing is a kitten when you keep out of boost. Literally can drive anywhere. The owner of this car owns a very reputable 97-up Corvette specific shop, and I know him personally through my shop as well. Basically what I'm trying to say is I trust him and the car. Should be a thrill ride once I get it on the road. Will post up pics when I get it to my house. It is no ordinary Vette... So excited.

We keep a database that dates back to 1995. This database covers any vehicle that we built here at our facility. We can search the databasse by VIN or original owners last name.

If we built a long block to ship out the door to a customer we would need the original owners last name. Within the last 10 years we also started stamping build numbers in the blocks and heads to help keep track of them.

The twin turbo kits are not offered out the door as a retail kit. There was one other shop that installed our turbo kits in the past (21st Century Muscle Cars). If we can identify the car was one of our builds then we could supply badging (if desired).
