Hey forum members,

Just a little note to let you know that DSTURBD is soon to be back in the fold. I have a lot of things to update, but I am scheduled to pick up my (new to me) '99 1SB coupe in black in Salt Lake City on the 25th or 26th, depending on how soon I can get there from Yuma, CO. I have severely missed being a part of this community (about four years now), but I feel that if you're not driving one every day, then you don't have a right to contribute. My last event was the Corvette Forum rally at the National Corvette Museum over Labor Day '09. As my birthday is the 28th of May (happened while I was there and everybody was soooo very cool about it that it was the best birthday I have ever had!!!!), this rally is of particular importance to me. I am a school teacher so this is when school lets out and I have to wait until then to leave for Salt Lake. (I am already climbing the walls in anticipation) I would love to leave from Salt Lake and drive straight through to Bowling Green for this year's rally, but that is not a possibility this year. Look out every subsequent from here on out though!!!!!!

I have never bought a car over the internet before, but I think I have done my research well enough to be fairly confident My last 'Vette was a '99 1SB coupe (sebring silver) which I absolutely loved, and this one has less miles on it than my previous one. Yes, I have looked at the carfax on this unit and am at least confident enough to drive 600 miles to see/take delivery of it.

I am going to try to get checked out at school for the year on Thursday the 24th so I can leave very early in the morning on friday to be able to get to Salt Lake early enough to take delivery of my new 'Vette. WOOO HOOO!!!!!!! It feels like forever that I have been waiting to re-enter this community!!! There's no place like home!!!!

Welcome back!

I dealt over the Internet and phone for my first Corvette purchase (last week) And my drive was 200 miles. It felt a whole hell of a lot longer than that... The anticipation is TERRIBLE. But so worth it!

Welcome back. I'm sorry you felt obligated to hold back because I don't believe Corvette ownership is a requirement. As a previous owner you opinion is valid, at least to me.

I bought my current C5 via Auto Trader from a private seller 400 miles away and it was a good experience. Even though you may have agreed on a tentative purchase price, I would suggest you take a bank cashier's check for 90% and cash for the difference. My car wasn't exactly as represented "perfect in every way" but I realized the seller was not a true car guy and didn't understand some car terms the same way Corvette Forum members do. The trip home was a good bonding experience and I hope you have a good one.
