I am planning to do most of the work myself (including the diff re-build), but will be getting the transmission done by a local pro (he used to do all of the Aussie V8 Supercars).
I know I am buying a lot of diff shims, but because I'm in Australia, I don't want to wait 3 weeks, 'cos I don't have the right one! Also the reason I am not buying a pre-built diff. Freight from Australia back to the US is more than the core charge!
Thoughts? Advice?
Thanks

I like the fact that there are only a handful of C5's in the country, and even less Z06's!
I've spent another $12k on my Z since I bought it, mostly on the usual stuff;
Vararam, Kooks headers & hi flow cats, 'Big 3' axle back, 36 lb/hr injectors, 160* thermostat, MSD plug wires, Motorsport wheels (+1") with Toyo R888s, a HID headlamp conversion and of course a copy of HP Tuners...
I'll probably have to split the job in two to get it past the finance committee, otherwise known as my better half...
My only concern with that, is doing a big takeoff with my new clutch and driveshaft, and spitting the rear end all over the road.

The goal here is to bullet proof the drive train, so I can look a bit deeper under the hood and find some more hp.
I want to add an ECS trans/rear end brace later, as I don't need to strip half the car out to install it. (and probably a tunnel plate at the same time).
I'd love to do it now, but it's another $400.
What sort of power level do the trans/rear end braces become essential?
