Default Drag Racing a Tow Truck UPDATE

Hi Guys,

Just giving a quick update to my previous post. I took Mopar Jimmy's advice and recommendation on a lawyer. After the arresting officer didn't show up in 2 court visits, the drag racing charge was dismissed and I had to pay a a speeding ticket and court fees. They gave me 4 months supervision on the speeding charge. GLAD THIS IS FINALLY BEHIND ME!

If I go 4 months without a speeding ticket then they will wipe the current violation from my record

Always good to get a legal issue out of the way.

45 in a 30. There was no race. Just a tow truck creating his own lane and trying to cut me off at the lights

Yep it's called cheap tickets. Arresting officer writes ticket then doesn't show up for court to defend himself because he's not required to, and they still take your money. Happens all the time.

Glad to hear it worked out but come on man, next time be courteous and let the truck out.

After this expensive fiasco I'm letting everyone out everytime. If you see me on the streets of Chicago feel free to cut me off anytime.

I was just kidding. I've done the very same thing. For whatever reason people seem to think they have a right to your space. 99% of us would attempt to get in front of the truck and to call that drag racing is an abuse of a badge, stupidity, and I'm a badass little man syndrome.

I will be driving up to Joliet and then turning East next week for the Hot Rod Power Tour. I tried to suggest the Indy route to Detroit simply because of this type of thing from Chicago cops but with no luck.
