I made my own "invisacord" for installing my radar detector into my 2001 vert. Problem is my bifocal vision plus the dark shading on the upper part of the windshield !!! I can't seem to clearly see how the locking tab on the mirror connector works and can't seem to release it! Do you pull it down toward the connector (like you do on a computer network or telephone connector) or does it go the other way?
I have read that I need to insert a small screwdriver, well I tried that but since I can't see what I am doing I don't know what to do with the screwdriver once it's in the area of the locking tab. I guess I will have to insert the invisacord prongs while the connector is in place since I can't seem to get it to budge. This old fart (64) needs a hand!
I finally got it. The tab does go toward the connector but it kind of "snaps" and a small screw driver helps. I was thinking the tab was just spring loaded like an RJ45 connector.. Anyway ignore this post ... got it working!
