Default Coil over?

Just wondering is there a way from keeping the coil overs from popping out of its perch? Its just the left front that keeps doing it, I had to raise the car a tad but really want to lower it the way it was the first time but I'm afraid I'll have the same problem is this a common problem with them is there a way that it can be prevented without raising the car up?

Thanks, Clint

How do you have them set. Friend of mine had a similar issue, he had to adjust them stiffer.

I have Pfadt's also and I have not had this issue. Mine are also set pretty low, but my settings are something like 9(f) & 6-7(r)

I don't have this problem either. It can be the coil over itself? I would call Pfadt and see what they can do about it.

A small helper spring should help. The helper spring will maintain pressure on the perch when fully extended.

I put some on my front coil overs because I had the same issue when I jacked up my car in my garage to clean it or take wheels off. Having my coil over set so low is the cause.

See the yellow helper spring below.

I had a car that had the same problem. Drilled a hole in the perch and ran a heavy duty zip tie through it to the bottom ring on the spring. Never had the problem again.

I had an issue with my Pfadts. I just adjusted the perches to ensure the spring always has tension. Before when I jacked it up the spring fell off the perch. The car stilll sits low enough for me, but I can not slam it this way.

Very nice Mark!! I too am running PFADTS... The only time i get the "POP" is when the car has been up on a lift. Only happens once as it goes back into place.

If they are popping all of the time,,, then that is a problem.

Hey Clint. Make sure the shock body it's self is lowered all the way into the lower cup. If you're only having troubles with one side it leads me to believe that the front left isn't adjusted all the way to the bottom of the lower cup, and you're accomplishing that last bit of lowering with the spring perch. This will allow you to raise the spring perch back up to where it should be.

If you need to get the car extremely low, be sure to bottom the shocks out in the cup first, and then get any small changes in ride height with the spring perch from there.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
