Default Reproduction window regulators update

Just thought I'd bring this up to keep it fresh. In searching, I found a lot of rants and warnings about reproduction window regulators. Here's my recent experience.

The passenger regulator went out. I waited. Then the driver's side started grinding. Okay, let's replace them both.

I order the reproduction versions. Install was peachy. Driver's side works perfect. Passenger side worked for about 10 cycles. Yesterday, it started making a racket like gear teeth missing. Then, it wouldn't shut off lifting or going down. I'd have to hit the opposite up or down button to get it to stop. Then it wouldn't go up at all. Just rattled.

Disassembled the door, checked the install, perfect, reinstalled it, same situation. Kaput. It seems like the gear in the motor just sheared off teeth or something.

I've heard statements from others here about uneven success with the reproductions. Guess I should have listened and not tried to save money. Get what you pay for.

I just replaced my passenger side regulator (2002). Bought the ACDelco one from Amazon for $140.00. It was a piece cake to put it but what they don't mention is you need an adapter cable since they changed the connector on the replacement regulator to a water tight version. The adapter cost another $35. The new regulator sounds and works fine. If anyone is interested I can post the P/N of the adapter but I don't have it handy right now.
