Default Yet another tire question???

Just picked up a c5z06 love it. It's got 27k miles Has the eagle f1 super cars (second set i believe) that r shot. I need front and rear, any suggestions? I had a 07 z51 before and ran the bfg kdw2s all the way around and really enjoyed them. Car handled well and even gripped realky solid on launches. I've searched on onlinetires.com and they are offering a special on them now for $44 off EACH of the rear sizes 295/35/18 and $29 off EACH of the front tires, yet they do not offer the fronts on these in the stock sizes. The closest I could find was 255/40/17s instead of the stock 265/40/17 sizes. My question is would this be ok to run 255s instead of 265s? If it is ok to do this tell me if any drawbacks I'd have. If I ran this set up it'd be $830.09 w/tax shipping.

I've heard positive feedback as well on the Bridgestone Potenza RE760s here too. I found them on here for all four shipped and tax $896.87. Also, how much should I expect to pay to have these mounted and balanced? Thanks guys!

Drawbacks - might be a little more prone to understeer. maybe a little less lateral grip.

Advantage - cheaper than going to 275/40, slightly more precise steering feel.

For spirited runs on the road, I doubt you'd notice a difference. If you do lots of track events where you record times and etc, you might notice then.
