Default Anticipated expenses

Have owned 4 vettes. Loved them 68, 75, 80 & 81. Thinking of a driver C5. Worst case scenario, what additional expenses can I likely faces...as far as repairs....say 100K miles.

All esitimates are strictly approximated.

R&R Clutch = $1500
R&R Engine = $5500
R&R Trans = $3000
R&R Tires = $1200
R&R Wheels = $1200
R&R Fuel pump = $500
R&R A/C Control = $300
R&R A/C Compressor = $800

Just expect to spend something every year...it's normal. Depends on how much you know or can do.

It's a labor of love.

Hopefully no added cost. Hopefully everthing has been maintained an all you have to worry about is normal up-keep.

Be picky and take yor time. Read the "everything you should know" sticky and be prepared to scrub down the cars you look at for known issues.

I am also historically a C3 and classic chevy guy. Just bought a 2001 for a DD ~2 months back. I went with a few more $$ to get a low mile car (32k). However it has shown some temperment...throwing colds when cold, clicking axels had to be greased and re-torqued, but so far nothing major... Good luck!

Had my 01' for 4-5 years now, just turned 40K. Only thing I've done is the knock sensors and normal fluid maint., brakes/tires normal stuff. I did have to do the EBCM for the 1214 problem, but since it's a year that can be repaired it was very cheap to do.
