Hi Folks, I have a question for you mechanics, I want to replace my existing rear half of my console in my 2003 50th. Anniversary coupe. 1. Do I need to remove and of the seats to do this ? 2. What is the best way to remove the Traction/Control switch & the latch mechanism and the F55 ride switch, 3. and finally the passenger seat belt light ? What is the best way to remove this section and the sensitive switch trim panel ? I don't want to destroy anything. Thank you !
Well I bought a 2003 rear console off the auction site, had it done with a custom finish, now I find out it doesn't fit the 2003. The switches are too small for any of the power outlet, gas door switch, so on. I can't believe I was so stupid to think they were all alike.
I just used the Vette Essentials instructions to remove the console. Worked exactly as shown. I don't have the link with me. Just Goggle or search it here. You only need to do as much as you need, he did it to show how to access instrument panel gauges which starts with console removal.
For all you convertible folks out there, the top needs to be stowed with the hatch open to get at the top 2 screws on the waterfall.
You start from the back and work forward
