2000 Coupe
57,500miles
MN6
Torch Red/Tan interior
HUD
two tops
dual zone AC (though the display was extremely dim on the unit, i think something is in need of repair here)
Z06 titanium exhaust
premium bose sound
everything about the car seemed to suggest that it has been well taken care of. All door and roof weather stripping looked like it came off of a 3 year old car (a testament to its life in nice weather or a garage). The interior was 9/10 (only thing that wasn't perfect was the dim LCD on the HVAC mentioned above) exterior paint was 9/10. Engine bay looked clean, car started right up and drove very nice. AC was cold. Transmission felt very solid, no noises when car was in neutral.
seller was asking $17,600, talked him down to $16,750 assuming the car passes a thorough inspection at the local chevy dealership prior to the conclusion of the sale.
...I'm excited

Nice looking ride! The dim display on the climate control is an easy fix
just what i wanted to hear
i also need to disable the 1-4 shift. this was my first time driving a C5 and, holy ****, that is annoying. i was in 1st gear and barely got to 2k rps and it came on.
in related news, the C5 is much more comfortable than my old '86 C4 ever could have been. haha.

Barely at 2000 RPM is why it came on! It thought you wanted to conserve fuel, so it was helping you. You gotta drive it like a real Corvette if you want to use all the gears

Sounds like your hooked.
Pretty vette. Dont let her get away.
oh i caught the fever in '99 when i bought my '86 4+3 red/black C4 coupe (i was a senior in HS and bought it for $7500 with money i had saved up on my own working ) anyway trust me i've been hooked ever since. i've owned other sports cars since then, most notably a 1992 3000GT VR-4, but the corvette has always had that special place in my heart. I can't wait to fill the void again.

Depending on the situation I'll either short shift to 2nd gear just b4 CAGS turns on and then to 4th, or stay in 1st a little longer (just past 2k rpms w/20-25%+ throttle) and then shift to 3rd or 4th to get around CAGS.

how hard is it to remove the restriction all together?
also another cool fact, while i was test driving it on the highway at 55mph in 6th gear the instant MPG display was reading 41mpg hahah
Others that have done it correct me if I'm wrong, but it's ~$30 and it plugs onto the trans IIRC. About as simple as it gets.
awesome
performance wise i think i'll be happy with the car is it in for now (i've been driving a SUV every day for the last 3 years) i think my first mods will be the repair of the HVAC control, CAGS eliminator, and perhaps a new XM equipped radio. i'm obsessed with the talk channels on XM :o

Torch red with oak interior and a 6spd tranny is the exact car I was looking for. Ended up with a torch red auto with gray interior. I'm still happy with the car but really wanted that 6pd tranny. I hope everything goes well with the transaction. Congrats in advance.

after reading about issues with 2000 and prior c5's i kinda wanted to find a 2001+ car, but this one was local and available for a good price and it has everything i wanted in a car (except the selective suspension, but really, i don't need that)
Nice find. Go for it! I also have the same issue with the LCD being very dim on my 2000. Since the topic is brought up, and an earlier post stated it was an "easy fix".... Can someone enlighten me on how to fix it?
