Default Problems with going to non-run flat tires

I was hoping someone could help me out. I am kind of lost on what to do. I just had new tires put on my 1999 C5 corvette. I went to BF Goodrich non-run flat tires. I really like the way my car rides and it handles fantastic. However, on my display I am getting a message that my tire pressure is to high, which it isn't. I tried resetting my sensors with a magnet. When I go to the left front tire I am not getting a reset (no horn beeping) but I can get it to work on all of my other tires. My sensors were working fine before I had the tires put on and I did it with a tire store that was very good at what the do. Any suggestions, do I need a new sensor for that tire? can the dealer reset them for me? Please help.

I changed my tyres (C5 99) got the same thing with tire pressure.....
Hope someone can answer this one

Got a problem with one sensor (FR) can't find it sometimes.

Did you change the batteries on the sensors while you changed tyres ?
Lasts about 10 years ....

The sensor may have got a ( Whack) when the tire POP when they filled the air.

Try to (knock) with a rubber hammer where the sensor is located, and se if you can get it to work....

Well the tire factory put in about 42 lbs, they said I ran less before because of it being a run flat. Should I let some pressure out of the tires. I am running the BF goodrich comp 2 tires.

Sounds like you may need your TPMS recalibrated for a higher pressure range. Dealer can do it for you. I had mine done on my truck twice, one dealer charged me $60, the other dealer did it for free.

Yes, definately let some air out. 42 ps1 is too high, tire pressure should be 30lbs cold 32 ps1 tops.

Default Tire air pressure ?

Well I'd tell the Tire factory to try something unconventional, Like reading the door jamb sticker for the correct air pressure. There was a fella on here last year who was having the same complaint, once asked exactly how high the pressure he was running and he said just what it says on the tires sidewall 60PSI

At that pressure the damn things well explode before they ever wear out. The air pressure for run-flat or non run-flat is 30PSI. I usually set mine in the morning and the car and tires are cold having sat overnight at 31PSI, and if needed I have a Air Compressor. I have no idea why you'd pump them up to 42 PSI.

Despite what you read above, the high pressure setting for when an error message is presented on the C5 TPMS is NOT adjustable. If you want to run 42 lbs, that's your business but you will have to learn to live with the error messages.
You sure about that? It is in my truck. You need a TechII to do it though.

Maybe because tire sizes for Vettes do not vary like trucks, they do not have that functionality? So you may be right.

Even though they're non runflats, you should still be at 30 psi cold.

Put in pressure for the tires you bought. Door jam info is irrevalent for different tires. 42 psi is really high and I am sure incorrect for what you bought. Go on line or call the manufacturer. 42 psi is about what I use for my truck for trailering cars. They are designed to carry 45 to 65 psi based on load.

I have been running BFG Super Sports for 4 years. 30 psi is the correct setting. You got bad advice. That thing must ride like a hay wagon on steel wheels.
