I found a thread where England green made one. but I was just curious why one wouldst work? what is so different from the stock setup that doesn't allow you to just swap one in?

The Grond thread should have illustrated pretty well why you can't just swap one in.
There was a rumor that Hurst/B&M was working on a ratchet shifter for the C5 but I haven't heard anything since last August. They were supposedly looking for test vehicles in CA but that is all I ever heard.

Other than it being sitting higher up I don't know he difference. and a longer cable. but why can't u just switch out the "shifter assembly". and use a different shifter. or is it electronic or something?
