Default A general, not technical, C5 engine question

Snapped a pic of a C5 engine because it seemed different, but couldn't quite place it. Later, I realised what it was: the rocker covers were something I'd not seen before. The "Corvette" was shiny chrome and no mention of LS1 or 2, only three chrome stripes and "5.7L" in the middle.

I've been searching for hours and can't find anything like it on the web, and no parts kits like it.

I don't know the year of the car. It had the high-polish pre-2000 wheels. Sorry, I have no online photo accounts to show the pics...

What was this engine? Why is it different - or is it?

Thanks in advance!

With no pic...it's just conjecture.

But not knowing what you saw, was probably just Fuel rail covers that were dolled up?

Sound like you are talking about the FRC's (Fuel Rail Covers, that have been dressed up.

Sounds like the stock fuel rail covers with a lettering and stripe kit added.

It kind of sounds like the coil packs were moved so he was seeing the actual valve covers. Maybe some custom ones that have the 5.7L engraved in the top?

Inquiring minds want to know
