So i seen a chipper 5 miles back getting on freeway. As i figured he caught up to me. Rolled down my tinted windows as he hit his horn.as i was moving right to get my ticket he pulles next to me and yells 55 its construction zone.yes i was doing 70 with everyone else and no work was being done..so he was busy or mabye there are chippers with soles..whewwwwww close 1
It's not a good idea to run 70 in a construction zone for a multitude of reasons, but since you were willing to take the ticket in order to speed, I'll not attempt to lecture you. It's a choice you make and you have to be willing to accept the consequences, which in this case was getting reminded. It could have been a bad day and an expensive day for you.

But was i in the wrong??this const zone on the freeway works at night.so is it still 55 with no workers. I was just paceing thee traffic at 65-70
If it says 55 with no further restrictions, it's 55 no matter what time of day or if workers are present.
Out here cops love sitting in the construction zones (whether or not work is currently underway) and pulling people over. I'm glad to hear you didn't get a ticket though.
So the OP is speeding, gets a warning, and is not happy about it?
Try explaining to the judge you were just keeping up with traffic and that's why you were speeding like they've never heard that one before.
I know we all speed, me included, but if your gonna speed be ready to pay for the deed.
Seems to me *if* California works it like Florida: no workers present then no speed reduction - then you were OK. The parts of Florida that I travel have been very reasonable around construction areas. Have noticed that sometimes they'll erect plenty of concrete barriers for the workers and they apparently feel safe enough to let traffic flow freely without posting any speed reduction signs. Slowing down traffic always causes jams which are in themselves dangerous. Faster traffic always equates to less traffic.
From: Dear Karma, I have a list of people you missed.

Reminded me of the time I was flying down 395 and crested a hill going down into Carson City Nevada. There was a Nevada Highway Patrol car sitting on the side of the road facing me. He flipped on his lights and then turned them off. As I of course was slowing down and went by him, I looked at him and he gave me the slow down wave.
The speed limit went from 65 to 45 to 35 and then 25 going through town. All within a few miles. I was lucky that day, but it did take a few weeks to get that crease out of the leather seat.
