C6 Z06 rims on C5! Can you compensate?
Is there a way to compensate for the C6z rims on the C5z? And for any of you who have used them or scene them does the 1/2" or so they protrude wreck the look of the car? I've looked at a couple pic online but have a hard time getting a good feel for them.
Thanks

Narrower than stock tires would likely help. Most here hate the stretched look but it would work and probably make the car look super aggressive.

Yep...just a little. Car when lowered looks much better due to a mild increase in camber. If you leave it stock height it's a bit worse looking. Like someone said above, you can get c5 offset C6Z wheels, but in my opinion they have too little (i.e. numerically too high) of an offset. For that reason I went with the C6Z offsets.
I could take a pic for you from straight on if you really want one.

I'd like a straight on pic... Everyone says they don't look right, but your car is changing my mind so far!

I have L5's on my car, for those that may be unsure. I know some people say that they don't like to "mess" with the body, and to be honest I don't either, but in this case I think it's exactly what the car needs.
From a design standpoint, if you look at these Z's from the front, the front fenders have a mild bulge, but then the rear becomes very smooth and almost more narrow looking than the front. Additionally, the newer Z's have a flared rear. Also, if you look at porsche and many other manufacturers, the higher performance cars often had the flared body for more aggressive rear tire fitment and as something to set it apart from the bodies of the "base" models. Even looking back at the Grand Sport or the C4 ZR1, there is a rear end treatment for wider tire fitment. It all adds up to the fact that the c5Z just looks absolutely perfect with rear flares and in my opinion should've come with a rear end treatment itself. It was the only high performance model Corvette in years that didn't get a rear end treatment of some kind and then on the C6Z it quickly resumed. We got skipped!
As a shop owner and SEMA builder/attendee each year, my taste is extremely picky. I like modifications that don't scream "modified", because I believe that is the best policy...make it look like it came that way. People see my Corvette at the gas pumps and they just go crazy over it. It wasn't like that prior...people would say hey...nice vette, but after I went with the C6Z wheels and flares the positive attention went up 110%. The better thing was that people would always say, "man those cars never grab me, but there's something about yours". I point out what was done and they just say "yeah, it seemed like something, but I didn't know what". That's the PERFECT way to have it. Don't doubt the L5's, because they set off the body in a good way. From the rear...the car is just pure right...the width the car takes on is ridiculous looking if you offset the rear wheel/tire package properly. Also, ride height is critical, as I've seen people with L5's and this rally car ride height and they just don't look right....stance is everything.
L5 rant over...haha. I'll get a pic from the front shortly.
