Did everything I set out to do with my 01 Vert (some older members may remember)? Now I find myself thinking about buying another one! I would probably not mod it anywhere near my old one, but finding a clean one may be a problem?
Everyone here says there are plenty around. From what I see, you can have a practically new one if you pony up an extra 5k or so. Go for it. I've only been driving mine for 3 weeks and it's the best car experiance of my life....and I've had a few cars.
BTW, mines stock except an exhaust and CAI from the PO. I put on wheels and tires and it's good for me. Plenty enough to get into trouble if you know what I mean.
Believe it or not I sold it to a guy from Norway after the magizine shoot. I replaced it with a new Camaro (far from a Vette). I still have my 64 Vette but not the same, heck of alot of fun but you do get beat up after a few hours. I think your correct about adding a bit of $$ to find a good clean one! The wife says go for it so may start a search!!
There are plenty of clean C5's around. Good luck. I have toyed with the idea of going to a new Camaro as well, but I can't get myself to do it. I'll keep my vette for the long haul, even as much as it aggravates me at times.

If you're patient enough and perhaps willing to travel a bit, you should be able to find a really nice, low mileage C5 - they are out there. Good luck.

I can't tell you how many times I have heard this comment over the years...even seen lots of signatures with a note stating "bad mistake' after the C5 was sold. I would say, unless you are moving on to a way better vehicle, there is no good reason to ever sell the car...well, there is one...unemployment!
As much as I want a C6 Z06(yes I do) there is no way I could sell mine after all the mods in it inside and outside and under the hood.
It would be absurd to contemplate the insanity of losing such a fine C5 to risk getting a plain C6 Z06.
I know I'd be like a lot of others wishing they had their ride back, but only more so!
Edited....just in case some think I could get both...no. I've already lived the stressful life of trying to keep a handful of mistresses at the same time. Same applies to all your passions...cars, bikes.... and yes... babes!

My friend traded his c5 in for a new Camaro SS, Two months later the dealer still had it in the showroom and he bought it back But he said that the SS is no replacement for a corvette.........
No problem.... I would not mod one to this extent again... I did do well when it came to sell it but you never get back what you put into it. Thats ok because we met alot of good people through out the build and at shows! To us that was priceless!

Beautiful Job you done on your recent C5. Love that Blue. Looking forward to you telling us all about your "New to You" C5.
I also had a new Camaro for about a year. Liked it alot and all of the things the magazine writers didn't like about them were the things I liked best. It was like getting a chopped top coupe right off the showroom floor!! However, I have one level in my neck fused from an injury so it was hard to see out when backing out.
Just got my second '99 C5 (fifth 'Vette) a few weeks ago and as much as I liked the Camaro, it was nowhere near like my 'Vette!!!! This one is very clean, low mileage for '99, is black, and has exactly the options I wanted. I hope to keep this one for a verrrrry long time!!
Don't plan to mod it much, it's pretty much fine just the way it is. A little louder exhaust is about all I plan to do and am going to start with the exhaust bypass on the stock pipes first and see how I like it.
