Default Oil life remaining ?

I recently became the proud owner of a 2002 C5, within the last few weeks. The first thing I did when I got it home, after washing it was take it to have the oil changed. Saturday I was playing with the menu for the instrumnet panel I came across a 26% oil life remains display. Does this need to be re-set at each oil change or is something screwy?
Thanks for your time...

Default Yes

Needs reset each change. Turn key on. Floor gas pedal three times, (car not running), turn key off. You're reset.

You can also hold the "RESET" button on the DIC for 5 or so seconds when you are looking at the Oil Life Remaining display and it will reset it back to 100%.

Couple suggestions:

1) fill out some basic info about your car in your profile like year, if you have any mods, manual or auto, etc. Will be a big help when you post asking for help with some issue relatd to the car.

2) requirement for newbies is pictures of the car within 30 days or you loose your membership. (not)
Welcome to the forum.

That's good advise that 8VETTE7 has given you there in
(Suggestion #1).

Sometimes you see XXX on the oil life remaining when you use this method. No worries.. It will say 100% after you star it up again...
