Default Zaino Power Plus

See post 44 on the attached link. This shows you something about the character (or lack of character) of Tommy Zaino, Power Plus in Staten Island, NY.

http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/...uragloss-5.htm

Just putting this out there for the Corvette family:

My 2008 C-6 Corvette was in a crash last fall at the racetrack therefore there was no insurance involved. Though I was skeptical about having it repaired, Tom Zaino, who owns Power Plus Auto in Staten Island convinced me that he could do the repairs and even had all the parts needed in his possession. As I soon found out, that was an outright lie. My car was in his shop for 3-1/2 months and no parts ever materialized, only excuses. Yet he took three cash payments from me in the amount of $10,000 within 2 weeks. In my opinion, he lied about the parts just to get the keys and my commitment to do the job. Once the vehicle was dismantled (in spite of me asking him not to do so until he had the parts) he threatened me that my car would sit idle in his shop unless I gave him more money. That was not part of the contract. Since no progress was ever made after all this time, I had no choice but to have the car towed from his shop. I am fighting to get my money back. He even sold one of my rims which was worth $1,100 without consulting with me. My advice to anyone considering this shop is to go somewhere else. This guy will schmooze you to death with one lie after another. I truly believe that he never intended to repair my vehicle. So don't fall for his nice guy persona. I have never done anything like this before but felt so strongly about the unethical dealings of Tom Zaino that I wanted to warn others of his lies and trickery, especially the Corvette family. He was referred to me by a personal friend, so I let my guard down a bit and never expected this to happen.

Also, if he sold one of your rim I would call the place and have him arrested for stealing

So at the at the age of 21 currently and after 4 years military 2 trips to the sandbox ive realized one thing. Everyone will screw you if you give them the chance. Our motto "CYA" means cover your A$$...

So my first question to you is you in the crap were you paying this guy before your car was 100% completed? Ive never taken any car in and paid before. You always pay when you return to pick up the car. Am I wrong?

So this contract what exactly dose it say? Did this "Tom" sighn it? I hope its detailed.

Next, he sold yuour wheel? Thats theft....

Lastly, what was the 10k for if he did no work to your car; other than take it apart.

So clearly your only option is to ask him for your money back or you will be seeking legal help with the contract in hand PERIOD..

I'm lost too. If I read this right, you paid in advance for work that was not performed, you removed the car from the shop, missing a wheel that the shop owner sold without your permission and you have a signed contract that outlines the scope of work to be performed. Is that an accurate summary?

You need to seek legal counsel, someone who is well versed in contract law and also speak to the local authorities about pursuing consumer fraud and theft charges.

No offense intended, but posting this one sided story on a public forum such as this one only gives you a place to vent, but without hearing the rest of the story - all I can say is sorry for your troubles.

Remember, there are always two sides to a story, and somewhere between the two sides lies the truth.

Yes, His brother Tom Zaino Power plus 7090 Amboy Road Staten Island, New york 10307 Phone #718-966-0014 This is only about Tom Zaino, and I do belive He is no longer a partner (It's my understanding) in Sal's detailing business. I wonder why!!!! And as (Tom Zaino's) business card reads, originally Zaino Brothers Corvette Shop, Notice how everything is in the past for Tom Zaino!!

You have my prays and pity, but as some others here have said, What was exactly outlined in the contract, and what was the reason you paid this Zaino character instead of having a extremely well known shop like Vette doctors in Valley Stream just over the Nassau county line ?

I feel sorry for you, but if my Corvette was smashed up in Nevada, It'd be on a damn railroad fright-car heading back to Pennsylvania and on to www.countycorvette.com to be evaluated and or repaired. Shops? If I don't know of them or them or been there, then they ain't fixing ^%$ht on my Vette. Sorry for your loss. And this is just my opinion your car has an aluminum frame. It'd take a lot of skill to get a frame like that straight again. I hope your in contact with a lawyer, a good one. And the Staten Island ADA and see if any crimes have taken place. And don't forget consumers union.

I'd take out a full page bashing ad in the NY daily times just to harass him. Make up a nice billboard and every Saturday morning or as often as you can, set it up in the street, it should be chapter & verse about how this scumbag stole from you. And yes, it's a public street. You can take any avenue you choose to attract attention. It's called the first amendment. If you do it long enough he might come out and punch you, BOOM that assault, and if he kicks you that's assault and if he curses you that's attempting to silence you and denied your constitutional rights.

PS take lots of pictures. They'll look great blown up to 8.5X 11's
