Wheels and tires
Need new rear tires. Can't decide what to do. I have a 97 c5 and don't like the stock wheels. Want a z06 style wheel (preferably black). My front tires are in like new condition but my rears shot. Trying to figure out if I want to stay with the stock size and get new wheels and new rear tires or go bigger maybe 19" fronts and 20" rears. Any suggestions. What are you all running? Thanks.

I stayed 17 front 18 rear, but went with Nitto NT05 tires. Check them out and see what you think. Some Hankook's are great too. Those are my favorite brands but not saying there the best. Just getting rid of the run-flats is going to be a nice upgrade too.
Oh, and the performance is very good. I used to spin all over in the eagle's, but the nittos hook up right away and no longer spin out between gears when I floor it. (auto trans)

You have tons of options to go with. If you go with reproduction wheels in stock C5 sizes, Hankook tires are a good choice, as is Michelin Pilot Sports. If you want to go with plus sizes, 18/19, 19/19 or 19/20 wheels are out there depending on your taste.

Well if you go with run flats I think there are cheaper then the Goodyears. Michelin I think? But If you have towing from your insurance, theres really no need for them IMO. They are very heavy and not very good performance. Especially when cold. They are very expensive too. You can get a very good higher performance tire like the NT05 or Ventus for a fraction of the price.
