[Z06] Question on car not starting

Question on car not starting
Not sure what happened. Got to the store. Killed the car. Came back and it wouldn't start. Plenty of battery. No codes. Had clutch engaged. Starter not even engaging. No clicking like a dead battery. Security light was flashing and not stopping. Pulled key. Kept trying. Then got mad, jammed clutch pedal to the floor and it started right up. Got to work. Killed it again, and once again it started right up. First time I've run into this on a C5.
So, am I looking at a clutch switch or possibly VATS? Not sure where the clutch switch engages to let the car start.
2004 Z06. Only 40k miles.
