I think I made a big mistake and used a metal polish for my wheels. They now have sort of a haze on them. I think they must have clear coat on them that did not react well with the polish. what can I do to polish them back to shinny clear?

I could never get a hazy look to go away, so
what I did was get some paint stripper from the Napa store and took off the clear coat, they are shiny-er than ever. Before

Simple to do sprayed on the remover and let it sit for a few minutes then sprayed it off with a strong stream of water. Hope this helps
I would suggest some 3M Finnese-It 2 polish/fine rubbing compound
Basicaly treat it like paint. As long as you just used a polish and didnt really scratch the heck out of em, you should be able to get them very clear with just a very light cut compound or a glaze by hand....then wax
