I am going to get a set of fixed back racing seats, harnesses harness bar and hit the track in a month.
My question is will i have any issues with removing the seats more specifically are there any sensors i need to worry about removing, relocating, any error codes i will get? I have the memory seats and i heard that i may get an error code and a dash light when replacing stock seats with aftermarket ones... That would be irritating. anyone heard of issues with this?
Having done this exactly I can say no you will not get codes. The memory function won't work anymore. if you go through codes, you'll see no communication for the scm since it won't be there but that's it as far as codes. There are no dash lights or anything. If you use a fixed seat that retains the factory seat tracks, then the scm would stay and everything would work as normal.
I installed my driver side seat yesterday and no dash light. I havent scanned the car for codes but no dash light = happy camper for me.
Thanks for chiming in guys.
So i did notice two plugs that I unhooked. One was for the seats motors, the other for the seat belt. I assume that since the seat belt one isnt hooked up that I should be seeing some sort of seat belt light but I am not. I am no electrician but I assume the way it is wired is it must be plugged in to send any type of positive or negative signal regarding seat belt engagement and since it isnt sending any signal the system thankfully doesnt default to tripping a light. just thinking out loud.
