Default Metal or Plastic End Links?

Hey gang, I have a 2000 C5 and will be ordering the C6 Z51 swaybar kit from GM Parts Warehouse. My question is was there a cut off year when GM switched from plastic to metal endlinks or should I just order the metal ones from Bill?

They are closed and at the GM event at Carlie and am wondering if their metal links are an upgrade or same as OEM.

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought my C6 Z51 Sway Bars and Metal End Links from PartsTaxi (A supporting vendor here). I replaced the old rubber end links that came on my 1999 Coupe with the latest Upgraded Metal End Links that GM came out with. Give them a call.

Does anyone have pictures of what the latest GM endlinks are on the C5? My 99 came with metal ones that must have been put on by the prior owner, but I dont know if they are aftermarket or GM or what.

If you look at my album you can see what mine look like.

They look GM to me

The only aftermarket ones I have seen (Moog K750136) use a solid round bar rather than the ribbed GM style. I used them with my C6 Z51 sways as I think they are superior .

That was my only guess as to what they could be, I just thought this thread was a good time to find out for sure.

I mostly ebay and craigslist parts. The sways were only 240, the shocks 305, the rotors 240, my K&N was 277 (All are prices shipped). My LS6 intake came off craiglist for 300, my Bassani cat back only 400!, and the Mag wheels another 400! I am just good at waiting and negotiating for parts. All in all with selling my parts, I have got most everything done for very cheap. My rear NT05 tires were only 160 for both from a guy on craigslist. Everything works great. Just got to know what to look for. I even sold my goodyears for 300 rears and 200 fronts, so sometime I make money on the mods!

Correct , my 2000 had plastic end links, I upgraded to metal when I changed my sway's, and shocks. Just in the last couple of weeks I changed out sway bar bushings to Pfadt poly bushings.

My 99 had plastic end links. They were bent 90 degrees when they were replaced with metal end links and sway bars off a C6 Z06.

Its a wonder my old sways worked at all with bent end links. HUGE difference after the change over.

I have a 2000 Z51 Coupe. Upgraded the suspension in steps as follows over a few days with driving time in between:

At the time of the cam install, changed out rotors and pads, (GM D/S and Hawk HPS). Added Metal end links at that time. Def could feel them! Then added C6 Z06 shocks, adjusted metal links, new 4 wheel alignment.

GO METAL!
