I just did something I thought I would never do. After 6 great years of having fun with my C4 I moved to a 2004 C5 Vert. Short version of a long story is my son wanted something new, so I bought his C5 and sold my C4.
He generally spent his combat pay on the Vette, so it is not stock. Sitting on C6ZR1 wheels with Z06 suspension parts and a custom interior, including a double din set up from Dennis, it handles very nicely. Then the engine was 'done' by Vengeance Racing and dynoed 378 at the rear wheels with 361 ftlb torque. Breaths in thru a blackwing breather and out thru Kooks longtube headers, hi-flow cats, and Bassini cat back. I will miss my modded C4, but this one makes the transition very easy.

Reason: pictures
He wanted a new and six speed sports car, but did not want car payments either. So he special ordered a 2013 Mustang GT with the track package (includes Brembo brakes and cooling/suspension upgrades), and the Recaro seats. So now he is happy and so am I. Only problem is with no roll bar I can not take the C5 on the track.
You'll be just fine. Just don't sunburn the top of your head. The best Corvette I ever owned was an '89 coupe that was in the family for almost 8 years. Until I bought my '02 coupe, that is.
Congrats & welcome to the C5 forum!
I'd like to see a few pics of your C4 though!
OK. The C4 is a 1995 with 231,000 miles. Swapped in a 420hp LT4 last fall, 2500 stall, Melrose long tube headers, OB cat back, bunch more 'stuff' and fun to drive.
