I have a 2004 magnetic red matallic ll convertible. What should be a fair price for taking off and repainting the rocker panels.I live in the Chicago area. Thanks Bert
Even better, paint them yourself. It's a good place to learn if you haven't done it before, because if it doesn't come out perfect, it's not that visible. If it is that bad, just sand it down and do it again. Find an auto paint store and have them mix some up for you and go to town!
Hardest part is getting the blend into the door jamb looking good without a tape line. We use foam tape on everyday jobs but it still leaves a bit of a line. May or may not be acceptable on a Vette.
Price will depend on what damage needs repaired, color and the level of job you want.
As others said, they are not really removable. You can pull the doors, frt and rear fenders if you really want it like factory. Hardly worth that though IMO.

I taped and covered the areas around my r panels, sanded them lightly and repainted them myself with matching paint ordered from Chevy. Looks pretty good but not as shiny as factory job but they're pros aren't they? My grandson is a severe critic and he's never noticed that I've repainted the r panels. I think you can do it yourself with a little care.
Thanks for the responses.I have quotes from $500 and leaving them on,and $1300 to $1600 to remove them all from good paint shops.I have only 8m miles on the car and hope to keep it for a long time.

Good for you! How many coats of clearcoat did you use? Did you make sure to wetsand it too? It should come out just as shiny, if not more.
