Sorry --- but I'm new to the 6 speed. I know "rev match" seems like a logical thought - but perhaps a short explanation will help me process what I need to do. Sounds almost like "double clutch".

To rev match on a downshift you need to bring the RPMs up just enough so when you engage the lower gear the gear engages smoothly.
So lets say you are coming down an offramp at 60mph in 6th and want to downshift through the gears.
Push your clutch in
tap or "blip" the throttle lightly - just enough to bring the RPMs up 500 or so while at the same time shifting down 1 gear
Let your clutch out
Repeat the process for the next downshift. Practice makes perfect... and it WILL wear out your clutch faster doing this.
Me personally.. I only do this when I'm feeling cocky. Normally I just push the clutch in and hit neutral to coast to the end of the ramp. - It's easier on the equipment. Brake pads are a lot cheaper than clutches.

Yea thats pretty much it, and when you get good at it you can skip several gears and once and you wont even notice that you downshift other than the engine noise. I do it almost every time I slow down because I dont like to be caught in a position to where I cant accelerate by just giving it gas.
The only time you will really harm the clutch is if you are not rev matching the downshifts, or slipping it too much.
If you need an example of rev-matching, just go to Youtube. The more you do it and get comfortable with it, the more efficiently you will be able to do so. It may take some time to learn how much more RPMs you need to go down to the next gear, especially if you skip multiple gears.
