Today I installed a new Kenwood Head Unit. Before the unit the key fob worked fine. I used the PAC wiring harness adapter and the install went well and the radio works perfect. However I lost the function of my key fob. I even replaced the battery in it and it still doesnt work. Has this happened to anyone else? Whats the fix? Thanks any help would be great!
Did the battery on the car died? Take your FOB to the car, stand next to it, and press the "unlock," and the "lock," buttons at the same time for a few seconds, and that should re-program it.
#1. I think you can resync your fob by holding down the lock and unlock buttons together for 10-15 seconds.
#2. If #1 doesnt work, you can re-train your fob by:
- Turn the key on
- Clear any messages using the reset button
- Press options button and scroll to blank screen
- Hold reset button down for 2-3 seconds, should take you to a screen called fob training
- Hit options button (i think) one time, will give you a screen instructing your to hold down lock and unlock buttons together on fob 1
- Hold down those buttons for 10-15 seconds, you should get a message stating fob 1 trained. you can then do the next 1 or 2 fobs the same way.
FYI, if you have an owners manual, these instructions are in the manual
